Like many I learned about this film via its trailer who was included in a trailer compilations and search the film a long time, but it never got a release post VHS for some reasons. I went from three different versions of the film untill I finally got a complete english tape (first one has video color problems in the last five minutes or so, next one was fine but in Spanish and an out of sync edit of those two). Thank God an untouched complete VHS shown up earlier this year.
So time to jump in for a fun Dave Darby's East Coast production written by Paul Ziller. The film story isn't complicated.
Bill Landis (under the Bobby Spector alias) is a mute living with his father (Michael Gaunt) who pass the time watching his neighbor house. One evening he finds the courage to go at the house and he will be in for a great time...
Sandy King |
Tish Ambrose |
Michael Gaunt |
Finally the cops show up at the house and...
Joe Santini and Saud Weinstein |
Wait a minute the black one is really familiar. Of course he is, it's John Canada Terrell who stars in Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It and many other independent New York films.
So to make a long story short it's interrogation time for the girls and the cops don't really care about the man tied on the bed.
Baby Doe, Joe Santini, Athena Star and Jill Morehead |
After the "investigation" the police lieutenant shown up at the house too and she will complete the works on the young girl of the house.
Tish Ambrose and Annette Heinz |
Finally all end well for everybody. The girls are escorted back to their houses with no repercussions, the kid became his neighbor boy toy and the father is liberated after getting himself some love too.
This is a good example of what the East Coast industry was at its best and it sure worth the time to search it... anyway it isn't that hard to find, but finding a good version is another story.
All we can hope is that a label will wake up and finally give us a DVD/BD release because the film deserve one and we can't even watch it via VOD which is a strict minimum these days.
