The Pleasures of Innocence (1986)

Cindy (Angel) and Candy (Robin Everett) are two strippers working at a club in Des Moines, everything is fine until they learned that an exotic dancer is coming which means that they are loosing their jobs. So they seduce their boss (Robert Kerman) to steal the new dancer contract and this is how they learned that she earns a lot more. So after a call to the dancer agent (John Leslie) it's time to go to the Big Apple.

After some trouble they finally find the Damion Farber School and Agency to meet the agent to talk about an exotic dancer contract.  Of course they are contracted and they will start a formation...

They start with dance classes to learn some techniques... we see this via a montage. But an unexpected visitor is coming, indeed Cindy and Candy bosses shown up at the agency to get a dancer for their club.

After a lot of BS talk where they make themselves appear more important than they are Damion bring them to meet a couple of dancers.

Finally all the Iowa people meets each others inside Damion's office and we get a final resolution.

This is a nice lighthearted small town girls in a big city, of course this isn't new but Larry Revene did a really good job. In fact I expected something a little bit mean where the girls are taken advantage of, but it's a comedy. The cast is great (but this is certainly not the first Angel movie), we get some New York footages which is always a good thing and, seriously, there are some very good music playing at the Des Moines strip club.

For some reasons hard to understand since it's a very good movie there is no legit release of this film, but you can watch it at pretty much every websites who sell VOD.

Showgirls (1986)

A lesser known Gary Graver's film, at least it is if we compare it with the high budget production he did for Harold Lime some years earlier. 

Obviously this is centered around a Las Vegas showgirls show and not a very successful one with the crowd... To be honest it's more worthy of being a strip club show than a Vegas showgirls show and the choreography is nothing to call home about.

The next day Gail, a new girl contracted by Burt, shows up backstage but there is no place for her, so she have to wait there and start daydreaming to fill the time.

The problem with the show is Burt (Eric Edwards) and something must be done about it, but it will take a while to happen.

Gail who left her small Kansas city with nothing coming to Vegas to follow her dream accept an offer from Eve (Jessica Wylde) to live at her apartment with her and her roommate Ginger (Stacey Donovan).

Ginger doesn't stay long since she has a date with Harvey a rich man... this will be important later.

So everything seems to be fine until the producer (Antonio Crabbe) announce that he must cancel the show since he loses money with every presentations. But Eve ask him to give her a last chance that she will use to do a brand new show. He agree but another problem shown up, he doesn't have the extra money needed to bankroll the new show... fortunately Ginger has the solution, her millionaire date.

At the end the show is a success and everybody get an happy ending...

Of course the budget is lower than what Graver was used to work with, but he did a good job to set the Vegas vibes with a lot of night footages of the Vegas Strip. So it looks like it was shoot at a casino even if everything is shoot indoors. The film have a good cast and it deserves to be better known.

It isn't Antonio Shepherd's Chorus Call but this is way more enjoyable than the other Showgirls film with Elizabeth Berkley...

Chateau Of Discipline (1973)

Early West Coast production with no director or cast credits...

Our film start with a wino at the end of the line living in the street who have a story to tell and of course this story is the film we will watch.

The story begins with Tracy (Sandy Carey) coming to the Chateau for a movie casting call.

The casting session goes well and she get the part, but there is a small problem... there is no movie, this is in fact a white slaving operation and she is taken prisoner by two masked guards when she tried to left the house.

The main part of the film and the reason why it was made starts here. The girls who are kidnapped are subjected to multiple sessions of sex and torture (mostly whipping since it's early in the game) by a trio of hooded men.

When the girls spirit is broken the business plan is to sell them on the market to whoever will do the best offer. The operation is ruled with an iron fist by a brother and sister duo.

Remember the wino from the beginning? He was one of the guard who fell in love with Tracy and help her to escape the chateau.

Now don't expect to learn why that results as him becoming a drunk tramp or what happened to Tracy since it ends after the big escape...

It was OK for what it is and it was better than the usual early seventies West Coast film. This is just annoying that it ends without a real conclusion.

Honey Cup (1975)

A Joe Sarno's film who is more or less lost, it's safe in the Distribpix vault (at the best of my knowledge) but since it didn't get a release past VHS it is hard to find.

If you are familiar with Sarno's works you should know what is the theme of this one without watching it, but here we go...

The meat of the story is about Sonya (Crystal Sync) a psychic who with the help of her boyfriend (Sonny Landham) manipulate and control her feminine clientele.

Her scheme start with a consultation with Glenda (Nancy Dare) who will bring her friend (Jenny Baxter) next who will bring her boss (Dory Devon) next. After that Sonya move in Harmony's apartment and all that group will became sex slaves (more or less).

In addition of all that cult like story we also get a love story between Doug and Audrey

And since it isn't complicated enough we also have a kind of love story too between Harmony and Brad, but it feels more like Brad is a gigolo to advance his career as a poet.

To be honest I prefer the softcore films he shoot just before he did the definitive switch to hardcore cinema, but I'm the guy who think that Abigail Lesley Is Back in Town is the best Sarno's film. In fact all the ingredients of a Sarno's production are there, so it is enjoyable but it's a little bit too long and become repetitive after a while.

 It worth the efforts to find it even with its flaws since it's obvious that Sarno always cared when he did the film (an average seventies Sarno is sure miles ahead his direct to video from the eighties). But don't expect much from the only copy who surfaced online: there is a constant humming noise, it is out of synch and, at least, three times we lost the image since the tape used was in bad shape.  

But as we say, it's better than nothing...

Hand Solo: A DP XXX Parody (2018)

An English production directed and co-written by Dick Bush for Digital Playground, so you know you're in for a good time.

Hand Solo (Robby Echo) hears while he works as a club barman about a ship crash and the reward offered for its cargo recovery. Obviously he is interested since he wants to be known as the biggest smuggler of the galaxy.

He must find a ship for his mission and, of course, being a bartender he doesn't really have the money to rent one, so with the help of his friend Raina (Valentina Nappi) he will stole Brando's ship to kick off his mission... not that he really knows that it was the plan.

So they took the spaceship and win a crew since two people are already inside it since they were doing reparation works on the ship.

All went well until they find the crashed ship where they encounter Boba Fett (Danny D uncredited) and Jaxxx (Carly Rae) who after a fight take over their ship and their recovered cargo.

And as if that wasn't enough Hand Solo and Screwbacca are captured by the Empire forces to make an example out of them.

Is everything lost? Will Raina and Nomi escape from Boba Fett grip? Will someone will be able to rescue Hand and Screwie from the Empire before their execution? I let you find it... even if the answers are obvious.

This film is another winner from Digital Playground and you never feel bored even if the film is almost two hours and a half long. The story co-written by Dick Bush and Della Darling is quite interesting and the sex scenes are well integrated and none of them looks like they are there just to fill a necessary quota. The visual effects are quite good and some line exchanges by the actors are quite funny.

Obviously I recommend this one... 

Digital Playground is sure on the way to change my ideas on modern adult cinema little by little.

Harlequin Affair (1985)

A couple (Eric Edwards and Tamara Longley) is expecting a visit from their son (Marc Wallice) who just got married and he have a surprise for his family... he married a black woman (Sahara).

So I expected a story about racial tensions since all the family is white, but Bruce Seven sure fools me on this one. Indeed the racial question isn't very important, there is some tenseness when the family meet the black wife the first time but they seems to get over it fast.

So what this film is about if this isn't an adult version of Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? Incest and a lots of it. Brother and sister, mother and daughter, mother and son, father and daughter... I guess you get the gist of it.

So it isn't what I expected but it was enjoyable in part, mostly for the cast (if you like Traci you are in for a treat since she is all over the film) but... I have rarely seen a film so badly edited. No idea what Bruce Seven was thinking about but the film jump from one scene to another and back, this is quite annoying and a mood killer.

You can't purchase this film anywhere and don't ask me where I got my copy since I found it online more than ten years ago. But I guess with some small research it won't be that hard.

The Summoning (2019)

Two couples of friend go to an old abandoned cabin in the woods for a weekend to hunt ghost (at least this is what the synopsis say), but this isn't exactly true...

Ivy (Abigail Mac) and her boyfriend (Seth Gamble) real plan is to awake an old demonic entity via the sacrifice of their friends.

The first step... a demonic ritual

After a ritual involving incantations, symbols and, of course, sex at the demonic altar they wake up a demon... not one but two.

As always things don't go as planed since the demons come to become immortals and kill everybody standing in their way. The uncredited guy is the first to go and Ivy is next. Luckily all hopes aren't gone for Nick and Regan, since she is a virgin they can invoke the virgin clause with the demons.

After a long group sex "fight" Nick and Regan win and the demons go back to hell... but did they really win?

Interesting mix of horror and hardcore sex, not that it is really scary but it was an enjoyable story to follow... even if we had seen it before. As usual with the modern films the sex scenes are way too long, the film is 2h32 long but I didn't use the fast forward function so I guess the length didn't hurt the film. Of course don't expect great special effects but the're fine for that type of film (to be honest I've seen worst in independent low budget horror movies.

The acting wasn't too bad, the sex felt natural for the story and the cinematography by Curious Judas is pretty good most of the time.
